Okoboji Grill in Newton

Food was delicious and plenty of it. Service was a bit slow.

It was alright not impressed

Had a wedding dinner there and had great service and great food along with timely service.

Went for the first time as a work get together. The service was great and the food was spot on. I see there are a few bad reviews but that definitely wasn't my experience. I don't know if it was because we were a large group but willing to roll the dice and try them tonight for Valentine's dinner.

Nope, won't be back. Would give a zero star but not an option. Now I know why so many locations have closed. My sandwich was burnt. Sweet Potato fries were more like potato chips - way overcooked.

Food was great! Portions huge and the waiter was knowledgeable and honest with us! I had to let the manager know how great things were! I'll definitely be back!

I just called and I guess I can't order take out until after 4 pm. I'm hungry now. I'll go somewhere else.

Went around 3pm, it was slow and we were seated pretty fast, the waitress gave us our menu and we waited about 20 minutes to place our order, waitress comes around after us signaling her for the 10th time and said "sorry I forgot about you", we ordered our food, and at this point they got a bit more busy, all the tables around us got their food and we were still waiting. Finally after about an hour we got our food, husbands pasta was cold and chicken was flavorless and hard. We asked for our check and waited about 10 minutes and never got it, finally went to the bar and paid there. Horrible customer service!

My wife and I like this place. We don't eat here a lot, but when we do, we say we should eat here more. Had the Bourbon Chicken SALAD because it was 96 degrees out and when its that hot I don't want a heavy meal. The salad was very refreshing.

Bartender who took our order was nice however the chicken wings I received were not. I asked if they could be made crispy and was told no problem. I received wings with skin similar to skin on boiled chicken. The maple hot sauce was couldn't be tasted only seen with your own eyes.

Good food. A lot like an Applebee's. The only problem they have is it can sometimes take a while to get your food.

Food was fine once we got it. They seemed to only have one server for the whole place which isn't the servers fault. They charged us 18% gratuity right away and didn't mention it when they brought the check. Seemed a bit shady honestly.

I was there for lunch with 3 other people. The food and service were good. When the waitress brought our change she asked if we wanted the coin change also. Slightly taken aback we all said no. One of my fellow diners had a $5 bill for change. The waitress asked if that was her tip! Okay but tacky!

Great new lunch menu! The young man who seated everyone is a great host. He even got our drinks and asked us to be patient because there were over 30 seated in the back dining room!

I think the service needs to be better. I wasn't thrilled that I asked for a few lemon slices and those lemon slices were not even put in a dish, ... They were out onto the rim if the glass of the other person's beverage, that I was having lunch with... (!!???) Really ??? Not ok. Had to ask for mints, and the place wasn't that busy, so I don't get why the service was not better. My sandwich was good, surprisingly, ... The grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. However, my friend ordered the crunchy chix salad, and it was " ok", not really that good. Onions were way too strong, I was wondering if they used white onions, rather than red ones.And the dressing tasted like a " combination" between Ranch and creamy Parmesan. I think the customer has a right to expect more , in the way of service and in food. There aren't many decent places to eat in Newtown, other than Moos, and Montana Mike's. .... So it would be nice to at least be able to get some decent food in town.

Great food, great atmosphere and decent prices

This Grill is likely the only place that I will consistently go to eat whenever I am in Newton Iowa. The drinks are always made excellently, and the service is almost always excellent. I've had a few mishaps, but nothing that wasn't resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. Because I'm not that big on full size meals, I almost exclusively order the totchos with a side of chili to put on top. This makes for an extremely filling meal on a relatively low budget and I can't recommend it enough.
